Geology, 1994 American Concrete Institute - Field Testing Technician Nuclear Densometer Testing Certification Registered Engineering Geologist - Washington RESPONSIBILITIES As a Engineering Geologist with NTI, Mr. Payton conducts geological and geotechnical investigations for properties and structures including landslide hazard and slope stability reports. He also performs field and laboratory testing of construction materials. EXPERIENCE Since coming to NTI in June of 2000, Mr. Payton has worked on a variety of geotechnical projects ranging from slope stability reports for residential properties to conducting deep subsurface investigations for pile supported structures, such as the new elevator shaft for the Carnegie Library renovation in Port Angeles, WA. He has also performed environmental/hazardous waste investigations including remediation of PCB contamination at an electric sub station. Previously, Mr. Payton worked for over five years as a Staff Geologist for Speedie and Associates, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ. While in this position, Mr. Payton conducted geologic and geotechnical field investigations for buildings, roads, bridges, aircraft runways, mines, landslides, tunnels and other structures. This work included geologic mapping and logging/sampling test borings, some in remote locations, which required the use of remote/difficult access drilling techniques. He also performed environmental site investigations on landfills, gas stations, dry cleaning facilities and water treatment plants, and performed forensic analysis on failed structures. Mr. Payton additionally performed field and laboratory tests on soils, aggregate and concrete. SPECIFIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS
