Helping to shape the Peninsula's Future Since 1965

NTI is a multi-disciplined organization  with a staff of professional and technical employees. Most previous jobs have been concentrated on the Olympic Peninsula, however, NTI has worked on projects throughout the State of Washington.

Northwestern Territories, Inc. (NTI), is a privately owned professional services corporation. It was founded in Port Angeles, Washington, in 1965 by professional land surveyor Darrell Petersen. It was later sold to Professional Land Surveyor Kenneth Clark and became Clark & Associates. Under Clark, the range of professional services was expanded to include engineering, planning, and construction services (construction coordination, inspection, and materials testing).

In July 1983, NTI purchased the stock of Clark & Associates, Inc. In September 1983, Clark & Associates, Inc. liquidated its holdings and merged its operations into NTI. In 1985, NTI moved into its current facility at 717 South Peabody in the remodeled former State Patrol, Department of Licensing, and L&I building. In 1994, the firm came under the sole ownership of Jerry Newlin, PE.  In July 2002, three employees formed JLS Group and purchased the company from Mr. Newlin and continued to operate the business as NTI. Most recently, the company has begun a program of ownership expansion to include several more long term key employees. This will allow NTI to continue to serve the needs of its clients in the future.
